OMCOS 13

We cordially invite your participation in the 13th IUPAC International Symposium on Organometallic Chemistry Directed Towards Organic Synthesis (OMCOS 13) to be held in Geneva from 17 to 21 July 2005, under the auspices of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry.

We are proud to announce that for the very first time, this symposium comes to Switzerland. The Geneva OMCOS 13 meeting follows on from Toronto (2003), Taipei (2001), Versailles (1999), Göttingen (1997), Santa Barbara (1995), Kobe (1993), Utrecht (1991), Florence (1989), Vancouver (1987), Kyoto (1985), Dijon (1983), and Fort Collins (1981). The venue for the event is Expo-Lac, a conference and exhibition centre situated in the same building as the Noga Hilton Hotel, in downtown Geneva, right at the lake.

This conference brings together industrial and academic chemists from around the world to consider the most recent developments in new metal-mediated and metal-catalysed reactions, mechanistic insight and new applications, novel preparations and reactions of organometallic reagents, ingenious and improved methods for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and materials using metals.

Young scientists –in particular, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows– are very much encouraged to attend OMCOS 13. This symposium provides a unique opportunity to see at first hand the most recent developments in this exciting field.

The OMCOS 13 programme will feature invited lectures, short communications and poster sessions. Along with the established academic elite in organometallic chemistry, there will also be young emerging scientists to share with you their most recent results.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Geneva.

E. Peter Kündig & Alexandre Alexakis
Chairmen, OMCOS 13
